A stick-on courtesy light that throws a bright emblem on the ground when the door opens
A small battery-powered LED pod sticks to the lower edge of a car door. Open the door and it lights, projecting a crisp circle of light with a gold-crown VIP emblem onto the ground beside your feet; close the door and it goes dark. There is no wiring, no drilling and nothing plugged into the car: a magnet on the door frame is the whole switch.
What it actually is
- A self-contained LED projector. One matte-black plastic pod with a small lens on the front and a bright white LED behind a round slide film. The fitted film is a gold crown with the letters VIP; it is not a car maker’s badge, and this listing does not offer maker logos.
- Battery powered. It takes three AAA batteries, which are not included. There is no rechargeable cell and no USB port on this version, so it never needs the car’s electrics.
- Magnet-switched. A small magnet sticks to the door frame opposite the pod. With the door shut the magnet holds the pod off; swing the door open and the magnet moves away, so the light comes on. Shut the door and it switches off again.
- Stick-on mounting. A double-sided adhesive pad holds the pod to the door’s lower inner edge. Clean and dry the paint first; adhesive pads hold poorly on dusty or cold panels.
- One pod per order. This listing is a single projector for one door. Order two for a matching pair.

About the numbers, honestly. The maker lists a size of 6.77 × 3.58 × 1.46 in for this item; that reads like the retail box rather than the pod, which is roughly the width of three fingers, so we have left the pod’s own dimensions out until we measure one. Brightness and battery life are not specified by the maker and we do not guess at them.
Good to know
- It is a night light. The projection is clear in the dark and on a shaded floor; in bright daylight it is faint. That is true of every battery LED door projector.
- Batteries, not charging. Three AAA cells run it. How long they last depends on how often the door is opened and how long it stays open; keep a spare set in the glovebox.
- The pad is the weak point. Stick-on car accessories come off when the panel is dirty, waxed or cold. A clean, dry, warm panel and a firm press make the difference; if your door has a textured plastic sill, choose a smooth painted area instead.
- Not a replacement for the car’s own lights. It is a courtesy light that shows where the ground is. It is not a safety device and it does not replace door reflectors or puddle lights fitted by the maker.
