Vintage Hole Durag Headband
A head wrap you buy for the way it looks
A one-piece head wrap in a deliberately distressed knit — irregular slashes cut in rows across the fabric so it reads worn-in rather than new. A rounded cap over the crown, a band across the forehead, two straps that tie flat at the back, and one wide tail that falls down your back.
That is the whole thing, and the look is the point of it. Everything below is what it is, what it measures, and what it will not do.
The fabric
The holes are cut, not printed
Up close the openings are real breaks in the knit, running in uneven horizontal rows. That is what gives the piece its aged, broken-in surface, and it is also why it sits light on the head instead of sealing it in. Air moves straight through the fabric.
It is a matte knit with no shine to it. Do not expect the slick, reflective hand of a satin durag — this one is dry and soft, closer to a well-worn t-shirt.
The tail
The tail is the long part of the design
Tied at the back, the tail falls to roughly the level of your shoulder blades. You can leave it hanging, throw it over one shoulder, or wrap it back around and tuck it. It is a wide flat panel rather than a thin ribbon, so it drapes with some weight and stays where you put it.
Putting it on
Three moves, no hardware
There is nothing to fasten. No clip, no elastic band, no velcro.
Cap on
Pull the cap over the crown of your head and set the wide band flat across your forehead.
Cross and tie
Take the two straps behind your head, cross them, and tie a flat knot at the back.
Drop the tail
Let the long tail fall down your back, or take it over a shoulder.
Measurements

One piece, one size. The cap panel and the long tail are cut together from a single length of fabric.

One size, and the knit has give — but it is a fixed cut with no adjuster beyond how tightly you tie the knot. Six colors: Black, Gray, Dark Gray, White, Navy Blue, Wine Red. Sold singly, not as a set or a multi-pack.

What it does, and what it does not
We would rather be plain than oversell a simple accessory, so here is the honest read on it.
- It is an open knit, cut through with holes. It lies on the head; it does not clamp it. If you want a garment that presses your hair down firmly and stays sealed against it overnight, this is not built for that job and we are not going to tell you it is.
- It is not a hair treatment. Nothing about this piece grows, strengthens or changes your hair. It is fabric.
- The white is the sheerest of the six. A light knit with openings cut in it lets a lot through — worth knowing before you pick that color.
- Wash it gently. Cool water, by hand, laid flat to dry. A distressed knit has openings that a machine drum will happily make bigger.
Worn-in on the day it arrives
That is really the whole pitch. A simple, light, one-piece head wrap with a long tail and a texture that already looks lived in.
