Inflatable T-Rex costume

A full-size blow-up T-Rex, in one adult size

Step inside, switch on the fan, and within about a minute you are a T-Rex taller than everyone in the room. The dinosaur's head rides above your own, and you look out through a see-through panel in its neck.

It is one size, made for adults roughly 4 ft 11 in to 6 ft 3 in tall. The fan runs on 4 AA batteries or a USB power bank, and neither is in the box, so pick some up before the party.

How it works

Air in, dinosaur up

  • A small fan keeps it inflated. The blower fan fits into the suit and pushes outside air in the whole time it runs. Switch it off and the costume slowly goes flat, so leave it on while you wear it.
  • Two ways to power it. Load 4 AA batteries into the battery box and clip the box to your waistband, or plug the fan's USB lead into a USB power bank you already own.
  • You see out through the neck. Your face sits behind a see-through panel just below the jaw. The view is narrower than normal, so take stairs and crowds slowly.
  • The fan comes out. It is held in the suit by a screw-on ring, so you can twist it out before you fold the costume away or clean it.

One size for adults, roughly 4 ft 11 in to 6 ft 3 in tall (150 to 190 cm). The inflated body is roomy, so build matters less than height.

Height when worn
The dinosaur's head sits well above your own, so you stand taller than the people around you. Mind low doorways and ceiling fans.
Warmth
It is a closed suit. The fan moves air through it constantly, but expect to warm up over a long evening indoors.

Before you wear it

Setting it up

  • Fit the fan. Twist the fan into its ring on the suit until it sits snug.
  • Power it. Put 4 AA batteries in the battery box, or connect the USB lead to a power bank.
  • Get in. Step into the legs, pull the suit up over your shoulders and close it.
  • Switch on. Clip the battery box to your waistband, turn the fan on and let the costume fill with air.

Keep the costume away from open flames and heat, including candle-lit pumpkins. Take the batteries out when you put it away.
