Overhead bulbs throw your own shadow onto your face, so you fill in what you cannot see and find out in daylight how it really looked. This mirror puts an even line of light all the way around the glass, in front of you, where your face is.
One dot, three gestures
Everything is controlled by a spot on the glass.
There are no switches on the body and no buttons on the back. A single round touch dot sits at the bottom of the glass. Tap it to turn the light on, tap again to turn it off, and hold your finger on it to run the brightness up and down.
On the three-tone version, holding it also steps through cool white, warm white and the neutral setting in between, so you can match the light to the room you are actually going out into.
Folding wire stand
It tilts, and it folds flat when you are done.
Two slim wire rods hinge out of the back to prop the mirror up, and you can push the body back or pull it forward anywhere between roughly thirty and a hundred degrees to get your face square to the glass instead of craning at it.
Fold the rods in and the whole thing lies flat and thin enough to go in a drawer or a suitcase. Buyers who travel say that is the part they did not expect to care about.
The stand is a two-rod folding easel, not a tripod. Set it on a flat surface; it is not designed to hang or to clamp.

The body, the glass, the stand and the touch control are identical. Two things change, and nothing else does.
Single White, 1200 mAh
One cool white tone, dimmable across its range. The manufacturer rates it at up to 250 minutes on full brightness, and most people run it well below full. Take this one if you get ready in the same room every day.
Three Tones, 2400 mAh
Cool white, warm white and a neutral setting between them, all dimmable, plus twice the battery. Take this one if you do your face for daylight some days and for evening others, or if you would rather charge it half as often.

Living with it
Charge it over USB before the first use. A red indicator sits beside the port on the back and goes out when it is full.

Wipe the glass with a dry or barely damp cloth. Do not run it under a tap - there is a battery behind the panel.
