What the numbers do, and what they don't

The band is printed with heat-sensitive ink. There is no battery, no chip and no screen inside. The lit number follows the temperature of the ring itself, which depends on your skin, the air around you and whether your hands are warm or cold.

That means it is a fun piece of jewelry, not a thermometer. It does not measure your body temperature and it cannot read your mood. If you need to check for a fever, use a proper thermometer.

Looking after it

Take it off to wash, shower or swim. Soap, chlorine and household chemicals can dull the finish and the printed band.
Wipe it dry after wearing, and store it on its own so the band does not get scratched.
Keep it away from high heat such as ovens, hot water and car dashboards.
