Even pressure everywhere — and it turns over when you do
A weighted blanket sits on top of you. That works until you roll onto your side, and the blanket does not come with you — now it is bunched behind your back, one shoulder is bare, and you are rearranging bedding at 2am.
This gets to the same feeling from the other direction. You step into a single sleeve of stretch knit that closes gently around you from your feet to your chest. The pressure comes from the fabric holding you, not from weight resting on you — so when you turn, it turns. Nothing to pull back into place.
One thin layer, not several kilos
There are no beads, no quilting, no filling and no compartments in this — it is one layer of stretch jersey knit, and all of the pressure comes from how far the knit is stretched around you. That is the whole difference in how it feels to be under. A weighted blanket presses hardest wherever gravity puts the beads, and it builds heat because it is thick. This presses evenly along every surface it touches, and there is only ever one layer of fabric between you and the room.
Your arms are never inside it
This is the part people get wrong from the photos. It has no sleeves and no arm holes — it stops at your chest, and your shoulders, arms and hands stay outside it the entire time. You can sit up against the headboard and read, reach for a glass of water, answer your phone, or scratch your nose, without doing anything to the garment first.
Getting out of it takes about two seconds
Worth being plain about, because it is the thing that stops people buying. There is nothing to undo — no zip, no buttons, no press studs, no cords, no straps, no buckles. It is one open-ended stretch tube. You push it down past your hips and step out of it, the same way you would step out of a skirt, and you can do it in the dark without finding anything first.
Your feet come out of the bottom
The foot end is open too. If you are the kind of sleeper who has to have a foot out from under the covers, you still can — push them through and they are out, without letting go of the pressure everywhere else. It is also the reason you can wear it standing up without it dragging under your heels.
You can stand up in it. You cannot walk properly in it.
Both legs are inside one tube, so they are held together. You can stand, turn round, and shuffle to the bathroom door — plenty of people do. You cannot take a normal stride, and you should not try to do stairs in it. If you want to move about the house properly, push it down and step out first; it takes less time than deciding whether to.
Getting the size right
Size is not a detail on this one, it is the product. Too short and it will not come up to your chest with your knees bent; too long and the pressure goes slack. So read this bit before you choose.
These are the supplier's figures for the unstretched garment, laid flat, end to end:
- S — 140 cm / about 4 ft 7 in long
- M — 150 cm / about 4 ft 11 in long
- L — 170 cm / about 5 ft 7 in long
- XL — 185 cm / about 6 ft 1 in long
Read those against your own height rather than against the size you normally buy in clothes. Three things worth knowing:
- Most adults want L or XL. S and M are short. Unless you are well under five feet tall, they are not the ones to reach for.
- It runs small. Buyers have told us so directly — including one at 5'6" and 160 lb who found even the XL too small. Take that seriously, particularly if you are broad rather than tall.
- Between sizes, or unsure? Go up. A size up still holds you evenly and leaves room to bend your knees. A size too small is one you will not wear.
Those lengths come from the supplier and we have not measured a unit ourselves — so if the choice is close, order the larger size and use the 90-day guarantee rather than guessing.
What you get
- One wearable sleep sack. That is the whole product — there is no cover, no insert and no case
- Stretch jersey knit, one layer, in heather grey
- Open at the chest and open at the foot end
- No zips, buttons, cords, straps or buckles anywhere on it
- Four sizes: S, M, L and XL. One colour: grey
When it is the wrong thing to buy
If being enclosed makes you tense up rather than settle in, this will not grow on you — it is the entire premise of the product, and no amount of getting used to it will change that. If you sleep with a partner who needs to be able to reach you, or you get up several times a night, the shuffle to the door will annoy you. And it is an adult garment: do not put an infant or a young child in this or anything like it.
Frequently asked questions
What does it actually feel like?
Firm, even contact all the way round — closest to the feeling of being held, or of a well-fitting sleeping bag that has been shrunk to your shape. It is noticeably present rather than subtle, and it is the same everywhere instead of heaviest wherever you are lying.
Can I get out of it quickly if I need to?
Yes. It is open at the top and open at the bottom with nothing fastening it, so you push it down and step out. There is no mechanism that can jam and nothing to unfasten in the dark.
Can I move my legs, or are they pinned?
You can bend your knees, draw them up, curl onto either side and stretch back out — the knit stretches to let you, which is the point of it being knit rather than woven. What you cannot do is put one leg somewhere different from the other, because both are in the same tube.
Will I overheat in it?
It is one layer of knit rather than a filled quilt, so it is much less bedding than a weighted blanket — but it is still a layer against your skin, and it covers you from feet to chest. If you run warm, use it on its own rather than under a duvet, and put your feet out of the bottom.
Do I wear it instead of a duvet or under one?
Either. On its own when it is warm, or under your normal covers when it is cold. It is a layer you add, not a replacement for bedding.
Which size should I order?
Go by your height against the flat lengths above, not by the size you normally buy in clothes. Most adults want L (170 cm) or XL (185 cm) — S and M are short. Size up if you are between sizes or at all unsure, because buyers consistently report that it runs small.
Is it suitable for children?
No. We sell this as an adult garment. Do not use an enclosing full-body garment of this kind with an infant or a young child.
How do I wash it?
Wash it cool and gently — by hand, or on a cold delicate cycle — and let it dry naturally rather than tumbling it. The stretch is the entire product, and heat is what shortens the life of an elastic knit.
