Protective Arm Sleeve
A knit sleeve that takes the scrape instead of your skin.
Thorns, bark, claws, rough timber, hot sun. Most of what marks up a forearm is not dramatic — it is the same twenty small scrapes, every weekend, on the same stretch of skin.
This is a thick, stretchy knitted tube that pulls on over the forearm and stays there. One style ends in a small bound opening you put your thumb through, so the sleeve reaches over the back of your hand and does not ride up. The other ends in a plain straight cuff. Both leave every finger free.
The honest job
Built for the everyday abrasion, not the emergency.
Reaching into a rose bush. Carrying an armful of cut brush to the bin. Holding a wet dog still. Loading rough sawn boards. Working a full afternoon with the sun straight on your forearms.
In all of those the sleeve is doing one simple mechanical thing: it puts a dense layer of knitted yarn between your skin and something rough, and it absorbs the drag. That is a real benefit and it is worth ten dollars. It is also the whole of what we are willing to promise.
Read this before you buy
What we can and cannot tell you about protection.
Cut resistance in clothing is not an adjective. It is a measured rating under a named standard — ANSI/ISEA 105 in the United States, EN 388 in Europe — awarded to a specific fabric after a specific laboratory test, and recorded on a certificate.
We do not hold that certificate for this sleeve. Our manufacturer has not supplied a test report, a test house, a certification body, or even a documented fibre content for the yarn. Without those, any number we printed here would be a number we made up.
So we are not printing one. Treat this as a comfortable abrasion and scratch layer, not as personal protective equipment. Do not wear it as your safeguard around knives, blades, box cutters, glass, saws, grinders, chainsaws, machinery or anything else that can cut you. If your work needs rated cut protection, buy certified PPE from a supplier who will hand you the certificate with it. That is not us, and we would rather say so on the product page than in a refund email.
Three things the knit actually does.
Spreads the scrape
A dense looped knit catches on bark and thorn and slides, instead of letting the point track along bare skin.
Shades the forearm
Opaque fabric from above the elbow to the knuckles is simple physical shade for the part of you that burns first outdoors.
Does not slide down
The thumb opening anchors the sleeve at the wrist, which is the reason a sleeve stays put through an hour of reaching and lifting.
What it feels like
Thick, stretchy and matte.
- Salt-and-pepper knit. Black and white fibres twisted together, reading as mottled grey. It hides dirt in a way a pale sleeve does not.
- Bound at both ends. Flat black binding tape finishes the cuff and, on the thumb-opening style, the opening itself — so neither edge unravels or curls.
- One width, stretched to fit. There is no size run for arm thickness. The knit stretches; it is meant to sit close.
- Fingers stay free. Nothing covers the palm or fingertips, so your grip and your feel for a tool are unchanged.
Choosing, in three decisions.
How much arm
Lengths run from a short band at the wrist through to a full sleeve that reaches above the elbow. Measure the stretch of arm you actually want covered and pick the nearest length up.
Thumb or straight
Thumb opening keeps the sleeve anchored over the back of the hand. Straight cuff ends at the wrist and is easier to pull on and off between jobs.
One or two
Single is one sleeve for one arm. Pair is two, one for each arm. Most people want the pair — you rarely reach into a shrub one-handed.

Is this cut resistant?
We will not tell you that it is, because we cannot show you a test report. It is a thick knit that helps with scrapes, scratches and abrasion. If you need rated cut protection for work, buy certified equipment and get the certificate.
What is it made of?
Our manufacturer has not supplied a documented fibre content, so we are not going to state one. What we can tell you is what it is: a thick, matte, stretchy knitted fabric in a black-and-white flecked yarn, bound at the edges with flat black tape.
Does "Single" mean one sleeve?
Yes. Single is one sleeve for one arm. Pair is two. If you want both arms covered, choose the pair.
Will it fit my arm?
There is one width and the knit stretches, so it suits most adult forearms. The length options control how much of the arm is covered, not how thick an arm it fits.
Can I wear it in the kitchen or around blades?
Not as protection, no. Do not use this sleeve as your safeguard around knives or any cutting tool.
Does it stop sunburn?
It is opaque fabric covering your forearm, so it shades what it covers. We have not had it tested for a UPF rating and we are not claiming one.
