Why the fold-down side matters

Most bassinets ask you to lean over a fixed wall at the exact moment your back least wants to. This one unzips along its long edge and folds that wall down flat, so the sleeping surface is open from the side. Lifting in and out stops being a maneuver.

The frame height adjusts and the castors lock, so once you have it where you want it, it stays put.

The rocking, honestly

This is a powered pendulum, not a hand-rocked cradle. The basket hangs from a central post and swings side to side, and the remote steps that swing through five settings from a barely-there sway up to a broad arc. It runs from the supplied mains adapter, and motion, sound and volume are all on the remote.

Rocking is for settling a baby who is awake and watched. Put your baby down on a still, flat surface to sleep.

Read this before you use it

Follow safe-sleep practice, whatever bassinet you own. Put your baby down on their back, on the fitted mattress pad supplied with the product and nothing else. Never add a second mattress, a topper, extra padding, a pillow, a quilt, a bumper or loose bedding. Keep the sleeping space clear of toys, and keep the hanging toy arch and the power cord away from your baby whenever they are in it.

Use it as a free-standing bassinet, on its own feet, with the castors locked. It is not supplied with straps to anchor it to an adult bed, so do not push it up against one and leave a gap alongside your mattress.

Motion is for settling, not for sleeping. Turn the rocking off once your baby is asleep, and never leave a baby unattended while it is moving.

Stop using any bassinet as soon as your baby can push up on their hands and knees, roll over, or sit up unaided. Assemble it fully per the supplied instructions and check the frame is locked at your chosen height before first use. If you are unsure whether a sleep surface suits your baby, ask your pediatrician.
