12V plug-in car heater and fan
Warm air where you point it
A compact heater and fan that plugs into your car's 12V socket. Switch it to HEAT and aim the red vents at the windshield, your hands or your feet while the engine warms up, or switch it to FAN for moving air on a warm day.
What to expect: this is a small plug-in heater of about 150 W. It blows warm air at whatever it faces and gradually clears a patch of fog or light frost on the glass in front of it. It will not heat the whole car the way your engine's heater does.
Before you order
Three things to know
Check your socket
It draws about 12.5 A, so use a 12V socket rated at least 15 A. Your vehicle manual or fuse box label lists it. Not for 24 V trucks.
Run the engine
Use it with the engine running. With the engine off it runs from the battery and can drain it.
Heat or fan
A FAN / OFF / HEAT switch sits on the side. FAN moves air without heating it; it does not chill the air like air conditioning.
Setup
Running in three steps
Place it
Stand it on the dashboard or console on its swivel foot.
Aim it
Swivel and tilt it toward the glass, your hands or your feet.
Switch it on
With the engine running, plug it into the 12V socket and choose HEAT or FAN.
Keep it clear of loose paper and fabric, and unplug it when you leave the car.
Where it helps
Small heat, well aimed
- Cold mornings. Aim it at the inside of the windshield while the engine warms up to help clear a patch of fog.
- Cold hands and feet. Point it at the wheel or the footwell on a long winter drive.
- Warm days. Switch to FAN for a little moving air.
