Postpartum pelvic support belt
Firm, adjustable support around your hips
A lace pelvic binder that wraps your hips and fastens at the front with hooks, for steady, even compression you can loosen or firm up as the weeks after birth go by.
It sits low, across your hips and under your seat, worn over your underwear and under your clothes. Many new mothers wear a hip belt like this after birth for a supported, held-together feeling while they walk, stand and carry their baby.
How it is made
Two bands and one hook closure
The wide upper band wraps your hips and lower back. A second band sits across the lower part of your seat at the back, and its ends cross over each other at the front, below the closure. A narrow strip joins the two bands at the center back.
- Front hook-and-eye closure. A column of hooks fastens into any of three rows of eyes, so you can fine-tune the fit through the day.
- Lace front panels. Floral lace across the front, with smooth stretch fabric around the sides and back.
- Made to go under your clothes. Wear it over your underwear or thin leggings, under everyday clothes.
- Two colors. Beige or black, with the same lace front, closure and sizes.
Anterior pelvic tilt
A reminder to wear alongside your exercises
If you are working on anterior pelvic tilt, the firm band across your hips is a physical reminder of where your pelvis sits while you stand, walk or sit at a desk.
A belt cannot move bones or strengthen muscles by itself. Lasting change comes from the core and glute exercises a physical therapist can set for you; this belt is something to wear alongside that work.
Choosing your size
Check the chart, not your usual size
Sizes run from S to 3XL. These are the supplier's sizes, so compare the measurement for each size rather than going by the letter you usually wear.
The supplier gives one reference measurement for each size and does not say which body measurement it matches. Before you order, measure around the fullest part of your hips and around your natural waist. If you are not sure which size those numbers point to, contact us with both measurements and ask us to confirm your size before you buy.
Once you have the right size, the three rows of eyes on the closure let you fine-tune the fit.
Wearing it
How to put it on
Wrap
Hold it with the lace panels at the front and wrap the wide band around your hips, over your underwear.
Fasten
Close the hooks from the bottom up, starting on the loosest row of eyes.
Settle
Smooth the lower band under your seat, then check you can breathe, sit and walk comfortably.
- Firm, never tight. Loosen it or take it off if you feel numbness, tingling, pain or skin irritation.
- After a C-section or a complicated birth, ask your doctor or midwife before you wear any compression near your incision.
- Made for after birth. If you are pregnant, ask your midwife or doctor which support suits you.
- Take it off to sleep, and give your skin regular breaks during the day.
