One earpiece, worn on one ear

This is a single earpiece, not a pair. One unit ships, and it goes on one ear. We are putting that first because it is the thing most likely to be assumed wrong, and because nothing else on this page matters if you were expecting two.

It hooks over the top of the ear, the way a pair of glasses does, and the speaker pod sits just in front of the opening of your ear rather than inside it. Nothing goes into the ear canal, and nothing presses on it. The pod swivels on the hook so you can angle it toward your ear.

Open-ear, and not bone conduction

These two get confused constantly, and they are not the same thing, so here is the plain version.

Bone conduction uses a vibrating plate pressed against your cheekbone. Sound reaches your inner ear through the bone. There is no speaker aimed at your ear at all.

This is not that. This is open-ear air conduction: a small conventional speaker, with a cone and a magnet, mounted in the pod and pointed at your ear canal from just outside it. Sound reaches you through the air, the ordinary way — it simply does so without anything plugging or covering your ear.

The practical difference is that your ears stay completely uncovered and unblocked. You hear traffic, a doorbell, a colleague, your own footsteps — all of it at full volume, at the same time as whatever you are listening to. That is the entire point of the design, and it is why people buy this shape.

What open-ear costs you

Leaving your ear open has a price, and any page that does not tell you what it is has left something out. There is no seal, so there is nothing holding the sound in or keeping the outside world out. Three things follow from that, and they are physics rather than a fault in this particular unit.

It is quieter than earbuds. A sealed bud puts sound into a closed chamber. This one does not, so you will reach for more volume, particularly outdoors and on a windy or noisy street.
It leaks. Someone sitting next to you can hear a faint version of what you are playing once the volume is up. It is fine at a desk at moderate volume; it is not a way to listen to anything private on a quiet train.
There is less bass. Low frequencies need a sealed ear to feel full. Speech, podcasts and calls come across well. Bass-heavy music will sound thinner than it does through earbuds.

If those three trade-offs are acceptable to you in exchange for keeping your ears free, this is a good shape. If they are not, buy a sealed earbud instead — you will be happier, and we would rather say so here than have you find out at home.

The whole earpiece — hook and pod together — is about the length of an adult thumb, and it is light enough that most of the weight sits on top of the ear rather than pulling on it.

We opened one and filmed it. What we can tell you from that directly: it is a single earpiece in a card box, the charging port is USB-C, a short USB-A to USB-C cable is included, there is no wall plug, and there is no carry case. It pairs as an ordinary wireless headset and connects for both calls and media audio.

No playing time is specified anywhere — not by the supplier, not on the box. We are not going to invent one, so if battery life is the deciding factor for you, treat it as unknown.

What it does not have

No water or sweat rating. None is stated on the box or by the supplier, so we do not claim one. Wipe it dry; do not rinse it, wear it in the rain, or take it into a shower.
No noise cancelling. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to seal — an open design cannot do it, by definition.
No stated Bluetooth version we can verify. The listing title carries a version number that came from our supplier. We have not been able to confirm it, so we are not repeating it in the body of this page. What we did confirm ourselves is that it pairs and works as a standard wireless headset.
No wall charger and no carry case. The cable is included; a plug is not.

Who it suits

The people who get the most out of this shape are the ones who need to hear the room. Runners and cyclists who want traffic audible. Anyone on calls at a desk who still needs to hear a colleague. People who simply cannot stand the pressure of something sitting inside the ear canal, and who will trade volume and bass to avoid it.

It is a single mono earpiece, so it is at its best on speech — calls, podcasts, audiobooks, a background playlist. It is not the right tool for listening to music properly, and it is not a substitute for a stereo pair.
