What this actually is
A round clock with a wood bar laid across it.
One flat disc for the face, clear at the rim and white through the middle. One thin black metal hoop around the outside. One straight bar of wood running top to bottom over the center, carrying two of the hour marks on its front. That is the whole design.
It reads as a floating ring on the wall rather than a framed dial, because the disc is see-through at the edges and the hoop is barely thicker than a wire. Nothing about it is loud. That is the point of it.
Sweep, not tick
Most cheap wall clocks use a stepping movement: the second hand jumps once a second and clicks when it does. In a quiet living room at night that click is the thing people end up taking the clock down for. This one uses a continuous sweep movement instead, per the supplier — the second hand slides around the face without stopping.
What you get
The second hand glides. There is no once-a-second click, so there is nothing keeping time in the room while you are trying not to notice it.
Not the same as silent
A sweep movement is a small motor turning continuously. In a genuinely dead-silent room, close up, you may hear a faint hum. It is quiet. It is not vacuum.

We have not bench-measured this clock and we are not going to publish a number we did not take. The mechanism is what we can tell you about; the measurement is not.
The part most listings skip
There is no battery in the box
The supplier states plainly that batteries are not included, and the pack contents are the clock and nothing else. Order one and it arrives as a clock that does not run until you put a cell in it.
- Have a battery ready for the day it lands. Otherwise it hangs on the wall showing the wrong time until you next go out.
- It is almost certainly a single AA cell. The sweep movement this design uses is a standard 12888-format quartz unit, and that family runs on one AA. We have not opened one to confirm it, so glance at the housing on the back before you buy a multipack.
- Nothing else is in the box. No nail, no hook, no adhesive pad, no instructions worth the paper.
Which face you are choosing
All three styles are the same clock. The only thing that changes is how the hours are marked.
Style A. Two white numerals sit raised on the wood bar, top and bottom, and two black numerals sit on the white face at the left and right. The other eight hours are short black batons.
Style B. No numerals at all. Every hour is a short black baton, and the top and bottom marks on the wood bar are a pair of raised white blocks.
Style C. The same layout as Style A, with roman numerals in place of the plain ones. Our photography for this style is a render rather than a studio shot, which is worth knowing before you pick it.
Both sizes are available in all three styles, and the wood bar is the same warm pale tone on every one of them.
Hanging it
- It goes on one fixing point. A single nail, a picture hook or a rated adhesive hook, depending on what your wall is and what it will hold.
- Weigh the wall, not the clock. An adhesive hook on painted drywall is fine for something this light; on wallpaper, textured paint or a bathroom wall it is a coin toss, and a falling acrylic disc is a mess.
- Give it clear wall. The wood bar runs past the top and bottom of the circle, so the clock is taller than it is wide. Measure the drop before you commit to a spot over a sideboard or a headboard.
- Set the time from the back. There is a knob on the movement housing. Turn it forward, never backward.
The plain facts
An earlier version of this page called this round clock square, attached a continent of origin to the timber that nothing in the supplier record supports, and described the face by a polymer trade name. Those are gone. What is left is what the photographs and the supplier's own sheet will both support.
A clock for a room you want to stay quiet
If you want something that tells the time from across a room without adding a click to it or a slab of decoration to the wall, this is that. Pick the size against the wall you have, pick the face you like, and have a battery in the drawer for the day it arrives.
