Adjustable cervical support collar
It is a neck brace, and it looks like one.
The single most useful thing we can tell you before you buy: this is a visible, rigid cervical collar. It sits on your collarbones, your jaw rests on the padded shelf at the front, and it holds your head up. It does not hide under a shirt and people will notice you are wearing it.
We are leading with that because the previous version of this page did not, and it is the thing most likely to disappoint you. If you came looking for something invisible you can wear through a meeting, this is not it. If you want a real brace that takes the weight of your head off your neck for an hour at a desk, or on a long flight, or while you read, then it is worth reading on.
What it physically does
It carries the weight of your head
An adult head weighs roughly as much as a bowling ball, and the muscles at the back of your neck hold it there all day. This brace takes over part of that job. The rigid frame transfers the load from your jaw down through two side struts onto your collarbones and shoulders, so the weight is resting on your skeleton instead of being held by muscle.
The second thing it does is limit how far your neck can move. With your chin on the shelf you cannot drop your head forward toward a screen, and you cannot turn very far to either side. That restriction is the point of a collar, and it is also the reason you would not want to wear one while driving or doing anything that needs you to look around.
That is the whole of it. There is nothing powered in this brace, nothing that heats, and nothing that vibrates. It is a molded frame, two padded contact points and a fabric band.
Getting it on and setting it up
There is one size, and the fit is set by you rather than chosen at checkout.
Set the height first
Each side strut is a notched column with a slider. Move both sliders to the same notch to raise or lower the chin shelf. Start at the lowest setting.
Put it on and fasten the back
Open the frame, bring it round your neck so the padded shelf sits under your jaw, and fasten the padded band behind your neck.
Adjust down, not up
If it pushes your chin up or feels tight at the jaw, it is set too high. It should support your head where it naturally sits, not lift it.
The specifics
The frame is open rather than a solid block of foam, so more of your neck is exposed to the air than in a traditional one-piece collar. We have not measured its neck-circumference or height range and we are not going to invent numbers for it, so if you have an unusually short or long neck, buy it knowing that is a real risk and check it against the return window.

What we are not telling you it does
Neck pain is a symptom with a very wide range of causes, some of them serious. A brace is a mechanical support, not a diagnosis and not a treatment, and we would rather be plain about that than sell you a story.
- Do not use this for a suspected neck injury. If you have had a fall, a crash, a blow to the head or any sudden onset of neck pain, do not put a brace on and carry on. Get it looked at. This is a consumer support garment, not emergency immobilization, and using it as though it were could make a real injury worse.
- See a doctor before you self-treat ongoing neck pain. Especially if it comes with numbness, pins and needles, weakness or pain running down an arm, dizziness, or if it wakes you at night. Those are the things you want a clinician to rule out, and a brace will not do it for you.
- Wear it for set periods rather than continuously. Ask a clinician how long is sensible for you. The general principle with any support garment is that it is used for defined stretches, not worn all day indefinitely, because the muscles it is doing the work for are muscles you still need.
- Not while driving, cycling or operating machinery. It deliberately stops you turning your head. That is the feature, and it is exactly why you must not be behind a wheel in it.
- It is not a treatment and we make no medical claim for it. We do not claim that it treats or prevents any condition, or that it changes the structure of your spine. What it does is carry the weight of your head and restrict movement. Everything beyond that belongs to you and your doctor.
- Adults only. Do not put a cervical collar on a child. A child with neck pain needs a doctor, not a brace bought online.
Honest fit
Who tends to get on with it
People who use it in defined sessions rather than all day. An hour of desk work when the back of the neck starts to ache, a long-haul flight where your head keeps falling forward, an afternoon of reading. In those situations the brace is doing something obvious and mechanical: your head is resting on the frame instead of on your muscles.
People who want something invisible almost always send it back. So do people expecting it to fix a long-standing problem on its own. And if you are someone who fidgets, the restriction will bother you within about ten minutes — that is worth knowing before you order rather than after.
A support, described accurately
A rigid open-frame cervical collar that takes the weight of your head, adjusts on notched side struts, comes in blue or pink, and is very much visible. If that is what you wanted, it is a straightforward piece of kit.
