It is a lattice, not a pillow. That is the whole point.
Most seat pads are a sealed bag of gel or a slab of foam. This is neither. It is a single molded sheet of TPE — a soft, rubbery elastomer — formed into an open honeycomb of small hexagonal cells. You can hold it up and see daylight straight through it. Sit on it and the cell walls buckle sideways under you rather than squashing flat, which spreads your weight out across the pad instead of concentrating it where your sit bones land.
Because the cells are open all the way through, air moves through the pad and out the sides instead of being trapped between you and the saddle. On a hot day that is the difference people notice first — not that it is softer, but that you are not sitting in your own heat by the second hour.
It is firm. This is the single most common surprise, and it comes straight out of our own reviews: "expected more cushion honestly, feels kinda firm", "a bit stiff at first", "I think I need something thicker". A honeycomb lattice about as thick as a finger cannot feel like a memory-foam pillow, and if that is what you are picturing you will be disappointed. What it does is stop the hard spots being hard and let air through. That is a real and useful thing. It is not plushness.
What this is not. It is a seat pad. It does not treat sciatica, back pain, spinal tension or any other medical condition, and we have taken those words off this page. Spreading pressure and damping vibration is mechanical. Anything past that belongs to a doctor, not to a cushion.
Fitting it, honestly
It is shaped like a motorcycle saddle: broad and rounded at the back, tapering to a short blunt nose at the front. Two flat elastic straps — one at the front, one at the back — run down under the seat and pull it tight. There is no adhesive and nothing to bolt.
Will it fit my bike, and can I use it on something else?
The footprint is about 15 in front to back and 12.8 in across at the widest point, narrowing to about 3 in at the nose, and it sits about 1.4 in tall. Measure the part of your saddle you actually sit on. Riders with wide cruiser saddles tell us it fits but does not cover the full width; riders with narrow sport seats tell us it overhangs slightly. Both are fine to ride on.
You may see this style of pad advertised for car seats and office chairs. We are not going to sell it to you that way. It is cut to the shape of a motorcycle saddle, and the straps are made to go around a seat that is open underneath — a car seat or a desk chair gives them nothing to wrap. It will physically sit on a flat seat, but that is not what it was shaped for and it is not what our riders are using it for.
What is actually in the box
Who tends to be happy with it, and who does not
Happy: riders whose main complaint is heat and numbness on a long stint; commuters and delivery riders who are on the seat for hours; anyone who has decided their stock seat is too hard and does not want to pay for a reupholster.
Not happy: anyone expecting a plush cushion; anyone hoping it will fix a bad seat completely — several of our own reviewers say they still stand up periodically; and anyone buying it for a car seat or a desk chair, because it is the wrong shape for both.
