A slim plaid trouser that does the work of a dress pant and a chino
Flat front, mid rise, belt loops, a zip fly with a single button, slant front pockets, and a slim leg that tapers to an ankle‑length hem. Four plaids: Gray, Khaki, Black and Grayish Blue. It is a smart‑casual trouser — the kind you wear with white sneakers and a plain tee, or with a shirt when the evening calls for it.
What it actually is
- A slim, tapered cut. Fitted through the seat and thigh, narrowing to a slim opening at the ankle. If you prefer room through the leg, this is not that trouser.
- Ankle length by design. The hem sits at or just above the ankle bone on the supplier’s model, so it is meant to show sock or skin above a low sneaker. It is not a break‑over‑the‑shoe dress trouser.
- A mid rise with a flat front. The waistband sits at the natural waist rather than on the hips, with no pleats, so it reads clean with a tucked shirt.
- Real trouser hardware. Belt loops, a zip fly closed with a single button, and two slant front pockets. A belt is not included.
- Four woven plaids. Gray, Khaki, Black and Grayish Blue, each a windowpane‑style check on a heathered ground. Every image on this page shows the plaid you are choosing.
The specification, with its gaps marked
About the fabric, honestly. Our supplier has not given us a fiber breakdown for this trouser. Federal textile rules ask for each fiber as a percentage by weight, and we do not have that, so we are not going to describe the cloth as any particular fiber or finish until we can stand behind it. The garment’s own sewn‑in label should carry the content when it arrives; we have asked our supplier for it in writing and will publish it here when we have it. If a specific fiber matters to you for an allergy or a sensitivity, please write to us before you order.
Sizing: the supplier’s chart, and what it does not cover
These trousers are cut and labelled on an Asian sizing scale, and the letters run smaller than the same letters in most US brands. Ignore the letter and buy by the waist measurement below. The figures are the supplier’s own, given as garment measurements; the length is the total length from the top of the waistband to the hem, not an inseam.
Small is sold but not charted. The supplier’s chart starts at Medium, and we are not going to publish a Small measurement we do not have. If you need a waist under 35 inches, write to us before you order and we will confirm what we can. If your waist sits between two charted sizes, take the larger one — the cut is slim and there is little spare room.
Looking after it
No care label came with this garment, so treat the following as our conservative advice for a woven plaid trouser of unknown fiber rather than as manufacturer instructions:
- Wash cold, inside out, with like colors.
- Hang to dry. Skip the tumble dryer until you know what the cloth is made of.
- Iron on a low setting, inside out, if it needs it. Do not bleach.
What changed on this page. We removed a set of fabric and performance claims, and an activity recommendation, that had no supplier data behind them; the recommendation was also simply wrong for a woven trouser. We also removed a size range that included a size we do not sell, and a sentence of the supplier’s wholesale marketing that had been pasted into the description. The photographs are now our own, and every one shows the plaid you are buying.
