A narrow belt that squeezes your hips, and a reminder you are wearing it
This is a compression belt for the hips. It is a black band about the height of three fingers that sits low - below your waist, across the back of the pelvis and the top of the buttocks - and closes at the front. Then two elastic straps pull forward over it, so you can decide how hard it squeezes.
That is the whole mechanism. Even, adjustable pressure in one narrow band, plus the constant physical awareness of something firm around your hips, which is the part most people notice first and the part that keeps them from slumping.
It is thin. It goes on over underwear or under a shirt, it does not show through most clothing, and it does not stop you sitting down.
Read this before you buy: it is a support garment, not a treatment
This belt applies pressure. It does not treat, cure, heal or correct anything. It contains no medicine, no heat element, no magnets and no massage mechanism - it is fabric, elastic and hook-and-loop.
It will not realign your spine or your pelvis, and we are not going to tell you it will. Bones and joints do not move because a band of elastic is wrapped around them.
If you have a diagnosed condition - sacroiliac joint dysfunction, sciatica, a disc problem, pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy, or anything else - talk to your doctor or physiotherapist before you wear this. They will tell you whether compression is appropriate for you, where it should sit and how long to wear it. That is a clinical question and it is not one a product page can answer.
How you put it on, and how you set it
Wrap the band low around your hips, below the waistband of your trousers rather than around your middle. Overlap the ends at the front and press the hook-and-loop tab down. That is the base fit, and it should be snug but not something you have to brace against.
Then take the two elastic tension straps, one in each hand, draw them forward across the front and press them down. Pull them harder for more pressure, less for less. You can loosen or re-set them at any point in the day without taking the belt off, which is the practical reason this design exists.
What it is made of
The band is a synthetic fabric bound top and bottom with plain black tape, with a fine waffle-textured mesh along the upper edge so air moves through it. The front panel and both tension straps are woven elastic in white with fine black pinstripes. The closure is hook-and-loop - no buckles, no clips, no metal stays and no rigid boning anywhere in it.
Because there is nothing rigid in it, it folds flat, it packs into a bag, and it can be worn sitting in a car or at a desk without a plastic panel digging into you.
One size, and how to tell whether it is your size
There is one size and one colour. As supplied, the band is 3.5 in tall and 44 in end to end, and it has to overlap itself to close - so the belt does not fit a hip measurement anywhere near 44 in. Measure around the widest part of your hips with a tape before you order.
We have not published a fitted hip range for this belt because we do not have one we can stand behind, and we would rather say that than invent a number. If your hips are on the fuller side, this is the thing to check first.
