A bag of frozen peas does not stay on your neck
That is the whole problem this solves. Cold works on a stiff neck and sore shoulders, but the cold you have to hold in place with one hand is cold you stop using after four minutes. This is a gel cold pack cut into the shape of a short cape: a tall collar that rings the whole neck, a wide panel that lies over both shoulders and the upper back, and two flaps that hang down the front. You freeze it, you put it on, and then you get on with your evening.
It stays put because it is strapped, not balanced
Two fastenings do the work. A short strap closes the collar at the front of your throat, and a second strap crosses between the two chest flaps. Once both are done up, the weight of the gel is carried on your shoulders instead of being held on by hope, and you can stand up, walk to the kitchen and sit back down without it sliding off.
It is heavy. Gel that holds cold for a useful length of time has to be, and this piece has enough of it to cover the neck, both shoulders and the top of the back. That weight is why it stays where you put it, and it is also the first thing you will notice when you lift it out of the freezer.
Two sides, and they are not the same
One face is soft short-pile plush. The other is smooth matte nylon. This is a real choice, not a finish:
- Plush side against your skin is the gentler option. It takes the bite off the cold and it does not sweat condensation onto your shirt. Start here.
- Nylon side against your skin is the harder, colder option, for when you want the cold to go deeper and you are prepared for it to feel sharp.
The gel stays pliable when it is frozen rather than setting into a solid brick, so it still bends around the shape of a neck. Fresh out of a cold freezer it will feel stiff for the first minute or two. The seams are double-sealed and the whole outline is bound and stitched, which is what a gel pack needs to survive being folded and refrozen over and over.
How to use it, and the limits that come with it
These are not our rules. They are the instructions printed on the pack itself, and they are worth reading before you buy rather than after.
- Freeze it flat. Lay it out flat in the freezer for three to four hours before the first use. Between uses it can live in the freezer or the refrigerator so it is ready.
- Fifteen to twenty minutes is a session. That is the window the pack's own label gives, and how long it holds useful cold depends on how warm the room is.
- Never longer than thirty minutes at a time. Check your skin every five minutes and stop immediately if anything is uncomfortable.
- Put a thin towel between the pack and bare skin if the cold is too much, and use the plush side rather than the nylon side.
- Do not use it over broken skin or an open wound, and stop and speak to a medical professional if you get any irritation or a reaction.
This is a cold pack only. It cannot be heated and it must never go in a microwave. The label on the pack says so in plain words, and it matters: on wraps of this design, people who microwaved them anyway have had the gel burst out. If you want heat, this is not the product. If you have a circulatory condition, reduced sensation in the area, or any doubt at all about using cold therapy, ask your doctor first.
Sizing: one size, and it is worth being honest about
There is one size and no size selector, so the fit question is simply whether it fits you. The collar rings the whole neck and stands roughly to earlobe height; the cape spreads from the base of that collar out over both shoulders and down the upper back; the two flaps reach over the collarbones.
On wraps built to this pattern, the consistent buyer complaint is that they run small on broader frames — the shoulder panel does not always reach the outer edge of a wide set of shoulders, and the collar can sit higher on the neck than the photographs suggest. If you have a large frame or a long neck, factor that in.
We are deliberately not printing a measurement here. The only dimension this page has ever carried was 8.27 x 6.73 x 3.31 inches, and that is the size of the folded shipping package, not the size of the wrap. Publishing it as a product dimension would have been wrong, so it is gone.

Store it flat in the freezer or the fridge, or flat in a dry cupboard if you are not using it for a while. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth and let it dry — it is not a machine-wash item. Do not tear, puncture or bite it, and if it ever leaks, throw it away rather than trying to save it. Keep it away from children.
