One-handed dish lifter
The bowl is ready. Your hands are not.
A dish comes out of the air fryer with no handle, no lip worth holding, and nowhere cool to put a thumb. A folded towel slips. An oven mitt turns your hand into a mitten. This is a small plastic clamp that grips the rim instead, so you lift the dish and never touch it.
How it works
Squeeze, hook, slide
The clip is a lever. Squeezing the long upper handle opens a jaw at the front. The top of that jaw is a smooth hooked lip that goes over the rim of the dish; the bottom is a flat pad with ridges molded into it that sits underneath. Let go and the jaw closes on the rim.
Open it
Squeeze the handle. The jaw at the front opens.
Hook the rim
Drop the top lip over the edge of the bowl, plate or pan and let the ridged pad take the underside.
Lock it
Push the small tab on the side forward and the jaw stays shut, so you can carry the dish or leave the clip on it.
It is a one-handed tool by design — your fingers stay behind the handle and well back from the dish. For anything wide, heavy or full to the brim, use two hands or a second clip on the opposite side.
Where it earns its place
Small appliances, mostly
The job it does best is the one that has no good alternative: getting a bare dish out of a confined, hot space. An air fryer basket. A microwave turntable. A steamer stacked two baskets high. A toaster oven where the shelf is at knuckle height and the door is in the way.
- Air fryer baskets. Lift the bowl straight up and out without tipping it against the basket wall.
- Microwaves. Reach in flat, grip the rim, and bring the plate out level.
- Steamers. Take the dish out of the basket without putting your fingers over rising steam.
- Serving. Lock the jaw and the clip stays on the dish while you move it to the table.

What we actually know about it
The grip surface is ridges molded into the plastic of the jaw itself — the same material and the same color as the body. There is no separate pad, insert or sleeve fitted to it.
Read this before you buy
The limits, plainly
- We do not publish a temperature figure. Our supplier documents the material only as plastic and gives no rated temperature, so we will not put a number on this page. Treat it as a tool for lifting hot dishes, not for touching heat sources: keep it off burners, off oven elements and out of open flame.
- One clip, not a pair. Red and green are the two colors you can choose between. Ordering once gets you one clip in one color.
- It grips a rim. It needs an edge to hook over. A dish with a rolled or flared rim works well; a straight-sided vessel with no lip, or one wider than the jaw opens, does not.
- Hand wash, and let it cool first. We hold no dishwasher, microwave or oven rating for it, so we do not claim one.
- Not a substitute for care. Hot dishes are still hot. Lift slowly, keep the dish level, and set it down close to where you picked it up.
A cheap fix for a daily nuisance
It is one small piece of molded plastic that solves the specific moment when the food is done and there is no safe way to pick it up.
