A little person made of light, stuck wherever you want it
It is about as tall as your hand is long. Four bendable limbs, a suction cup on the end of every one, and a frosted globe for a head. Bend it into a pose, press it onto glass, and press the switch under its body.
What it actually is
This is an ornament that lights up, not a lamp you work by. The whole figure stands about 6.7 in (17 cm) tall and its torso is no thicker than a thumb. The head is a frosted globe that gives off a soft, warm, low glow — the level you want on a nightstand, a shelf, a bathroom mirror or a window at dusk. It will mark a doorway in the dark. It will not light a desk.
The four limbs are bendable, so it stays in whatever shape you put it in: standing, sitting on a shelf edge, hanging upside down off a cupboard door, climbing a window. That is the whole point of it, and it is the reason people buy a second one.
- Four suction cups — one on each hand and each foot, so it can hold onto a surface by two limbs or all four.
- Bendable limbs that stay put — pose it once and it keeps the pose until you change it.
- A press switch under the body — a light press on the underside of the torso turns the head on and off.
- No cord — nothing to plug in, nothing trailing off the shelf. It runs on button cells inside the head.
Where the suction cups will hold — and where they will not
The cups need a surface that is smooth, clean, non-porous and dry. Glass, a mirror, glazed tile, a fridge door, gloss-painted metal, a laptop lid, an acrylic shelf: all fine. Press each cup down firmly and squeeze the air out from under it.
They will not hold on painted drywall, wallpaper, bare or waxed wood, textured plastic, or anything dusty. Nothing sticks to those, and no suction cup on the market changes that. If a cup starts to creep, wipe both the cup and the surface with a damp cloth, let them dry, and press again.
The figure is light enough that two cups will usually carry it. Four is steadier, and four is what you want if it is hanging upside down over anything you care about.
Power, and the part that needs saying plainly
It runs on three small button cells that sit inside the globe head. The head comes off to reach them. There is no cord, no USB socket and nothing to charge.
Two honest consequences of that. First, a light this size on cells this small is not a run-all-night device — use it as a marker you switch on and off, not as something you leave burning, and expect to replace the cells. Second, and more important:
- Button cells are dangerous if a child swallows one. They can cause serious internal injury very quickly. Keep this light, and any spare cells, well away from children and pets, and get emergency medical help immediately if you think a cell has been swallowed.
- This is a decorative object, not a toy. It looks like a little person and small children are drawn to it. That is exactly why it belongs on a high shelf or a grown-up's nightstand rather than in a crib or a play area.
If you want a night light for a small child's room, choose a mains or rechargeable one with a screw-closed battery door instead. We would rather say that than sell you the wrong thing.
Four colors, and a set of all four
It comes in pale blush pink, warm off-white, powder blue and matte black. Every one has the same opal-white frosted head; the torso, limbs and cups carry the color. The four-pack is one of each — which is what most people who buy more than one end up wanting anyway, because they get posed in different rooms.
Specifications
About that second number you may have seen on this page before: the old spec line read “6.69 x 1.49 inches”. The 1.49 in figure is the distance between its two feet in one particular pose in the supplier's photograph, not a fixed width. Because the limbs bend, how wide it stands is up to you. Height is the number that means something.

Somewhere it makes sense
Stuck to the inside of a window at dusk. Climbing the side of a bookshelf. Holding onto a bathroom mirror. Sitting on the edge of a monitor. It is a small, slightly silly thing that makes a corner of a room better, and it is honestly best understood that way.
