Casual canvas messenger bag
A soft canvas bag that holds a day, not a week
One wide flap, one zip, one strap you set once. It carries a laptop, a folder and a bottle without the frame and padding that make a bag heavier than what is in it.
The size, measured off the whole bag
Not off a pocket, and not off a shipping carton. These are the outside measurements of the bag itself.
What that means in practice: a 13-inch laptop fits inside the main compartment. A 15-inch laptop does not — it is taller than the bag. Nothing inside the bag is padded, so if you carry a laptop, carry it in its own sleeve.
The strap
Wide, flat, and sewn in at both ends
The strap is a broad band of canvas webbing, roughly three fingers across, bound along both edges. A single flat slider sets the length, so you can wear it on one shoulder or across the body and then stop thinking about it.
It is stitched permanently into the bag at both ends. It does not unclip and it is not removable, which is worth knowing if you were hoping to swap it.
The closure
A flap over a zip, not a flap on its own
The full-width front flap folds down over the opening, and underneath it the main compartment closes with a metal zip. So the contents are actually shut in, rather than just covered.
Note that the zip slider can arrive on either side and close in either direction. That varies between units and is not a fault.
What is actually inside it
Three places to put things, and no dividers pretending to be more.
One main cavity
A single open canvas compartment. Books, a folder, a sweater, a 13-inch laptop in its own sleeve.
One zipped pocket
Inside the main compartment, against the back wall. The only pocket on the bag that closes.
One slip pocket
Also inside, open topped. Phone, cards, keys — the things you want without opening the zip fully.
- A pocket at each end takes a bottle. They are open slip pockets in the side panels, sized for a normal water bottle.
- One small pocket on the front, under its own little flap, held by a single snap.
- The body is unstructured. It slouches when it is empty and takes the shape of what you put in it. That is the look, not a defect.
What we can and cannot tell you about the material
It is a washed canvas — you can see the weave in the photographs, and it is a plain, heavy, matte cloth. What we cannot tell you is the fiber it is woven from, because our supplier does not publish one.
"Canvas" describes how a cloth is woven, not what it is made of. It can be cotton, a cotton and polyester blend, or polyester alone. Rather than guess, we would rather say plainly that the composition is not documented, and leave it out. If that matters to you, hold off until we can put a tested figure here. The country of origin is not documented either.
For the same reason there is no water-resistance rating on this page, no canvas weight in ounces, and no load rating. None of those have been tested for this bag, so none of them are claimed.
