Keep wearing your own shorts. Add the part that actually matters.

This is the padded layer that goes on first. Pull your normal shorts, MTB baggies, commuter pants or bib tights straight over the top and the saddle stops being the reason you cut a ride short.

Most padded cycling shorts ask you to change what you wear in public. This one doesn't. It is a mid-thigh under-short with a molded seat pad built in, cut low enough in bulk to sit invisibly under a second layer — which is why it works just as well for an hour on the indoor trainer as it does for a Saturday on the road.

What it actually does

Spreads the load at the contact point

The pad is a molded multi-zone chamois, noticeably thicker through the middle where your sit bones land and feathered thin at the edges so there is no hard ridge to press against. Instead of your weight stacking onto two small points on a hard saddle, it spreads across a wider area. That is a comfort difference you feel in the last third of a ride, not the first ten minutes.

Stays where you put it

A flat elastic band finishes each leg opening and grips the thigh, so the hem doesn't creep up and bunch at the top of your leg. The waistband is wide, flat and drawcord-free, which keeps it from digging in when you fold forward onto the bars — and keeps it from printing through an outer layer.

Moves air, not sweat

The shell is an open-knit stretch fabric with a fine waffle surface and mesh through the side panels. It is built to breathe and to move moisture off the skin rather than hold it, so the layer closest to you is not the one staying wet.

Who this is for

  • Riders who don't want to be seen in skin-tight outer shorts, but still want the pad
  • Indoor trainer and spin sessions, where there is no coasting and no standing up
  • Mountain and gravel riders wearing baggies over the top
  • Commuters and bike-packers who want one comfortable layer under normal clothes

Choosing your color

Every version of this short has a black body. The color name refers to the accent — the elastic waistband and the seat pad — not the shorts themselves. There are also two builds behind those five options:

  • Gray and Red are the standard build: waffle-textured shell with open mesh side panels and a flat elastic band at each leg opening.
  • Pro Gray, Pro Red and Pro Blue are the Pro build: a smoother shell, a slightly longer leg, and a noticeably wider textured gripper band at each hem.

Fit note. Several riders have told us these run closer to the body than a standard boxer brief. If you are between sizes or you prefer a looser base layer, take the larger one.
