A mask you sleep in

Most sheet masks are a cloth soaked in essence. You get fifteen minutes before the cloth dries out and starts taking moisture back off your face, and then you throw it away. This one works differently, and the difference is the reason to buy it.

This is a hydrogel. The essence has been set into a solid jelly sheet, so there is no cloth in it at all — the gel is the product. It has weight and body, it clings to the curve of your jaw and the sides of your nose instead of sliding off them, and it does not dry out in a quarter of an hour. You put it on and leave it on, usually overnight.

It comes in two pieces

This catches people out, so it is worth saying before you open the pouch. Inside there are two separate gel shapes, each sandwiched between plastic films. The upper piece covers your forehead and goes around your eyes. The lower piece covers your cheeks, jaw and chin, with an opening at the mouth and a notch at the nose. They go on separately.

Peel the film off the lower piece first and press it on from the chin upward, working outward toward your ears so you push the air out rather than trapping it. Then do the upper piece, lining the eye openings up before you commit. The gel is forgiving — if a section wrinkles, lift it and lay it back down.

Two pieces, not one sheet: an upper piece for the forehead and eyes and a lower piece for the cheeks, jaw and chin

Wear it for hours, not minutes

The single most common mistake is treating this like a fifteen-minute sheet mask. It is not one. The gel starts opaque and milky, and over several hours it slowly becomes transparent. That color change is your timer: when the sheet has gone clear, it has given up what it is going to give up and you can take it off.

Most people put it on before bed and take it off in the morning. If you want to wear it during the day, allow yourself a few unhurried hours. Peel it off, pat whatever is left on your skin in with your fingers rather than rinsing it away, and carry on with your routine.

What we can tell you about the ingredients, and what we cannot

We do not hold a full ingredient list for this product, and we are not going to invent one. The pouch prints a short front-of-pack ingredient summary — probiotic galactomyces ferment filtrate, a low-molecular hyaluronic acid solution and low-molecular collagen, alongside niacinamide. That is a marketing summary, not a complete INCI declaration, and a complete INCI declaration is the only thing that lets you check a mask against an allergy or a sensitivity.

We have asked our supplier for the full list. Until we have it in writing and can attribute it to the batch we actually ship, this page will not publish one, and you should treat the summary above as incomplete. If you have a known cosmetic allergy, a reactive skin condition, or you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please do not buy this on the strength of a partial list. Write to us first and we will tell you exactly what documentation we hold, which today is not enough.

Using it sensibly

Patch-test first — a small piece of the gel behind the ear or on the inner forearm, left for a few hours, before you put a whole mask on your face. This is ordinary advice for any new leave-on product, and it matters more than usual here because the full ingredient list is not published. Do not use it on broken, sunburned, freshly lasered, freshly needled or actively inflamed skin, and do not use it over an open blemish. For external use on the face only — keep it out of your eyes and mouth, and if it stings, itches or reddens, take it off and rinse with cool water. One mask, once. Do not re-use a sheet.

Getting the most out of it

  • Clean, dry skin first. Cleanse and tone. Skip heavy creams and face oils underneath — an oily film sits between the gel and your skin and stops it making proper contact.
  • Cool it if you like. A pouch kept in the fridge goes on cold and is very pleasant on a hot night. It is a comfort thing, not a performance thing.
  • Use the offcuts. The little pieces cut out for the eyes and mouth are the same gel. Put them on your neck or the backs of your hands rather than binning them.
  • Don't rinse afterwards. Pat the residue in. Rinsing it off is throwing away the part that was still working.
  • Store the pouches flat, sealed and out of direct sun, and use one within a day or so of opening it — which in practice means opening it when you intend to wear it.

When this is the wrong mask

We would rather you bought the right thing than the wrong thing here.

  • You want a fifteen-minute mask before you go out. This one wants hours. Buy a conventional sheet mask for that job.
  • You want a paint-on peel-off mask. Despite the name this listing has carried, this is not a rubbery gel you brush on and pull off in one piece. It is a pre-cut hydrogel sheet.
  • You need to check a full ingredient list before anything touches your face. Read the note above. We are not there yet on this product, and we would rather tell you than have you find out.
  • You are treating a skin condition. This is a cosmetic mask. It is not a medicine and it is not a substitute for seeing a dermatologist.
