A fitted, ankle‑length slip dress in lightweight satin. The bodice is two finely pleated triangle cups meeting at a deep V; two thin spaghetti straps run over the shoulders and cross once between the shoulder blades, leaving the back open to the middle of the back. The skirt is cut close through the waist and hips, opens in a high slit on the left leg, and flares slightly at the hem. What it actually is

• Pleated cups and a deep V. The bust is two triangle cups covered in narrow horizontal pleats, joined at a plunging neckline with a smooth satin band beneath. There is no padding and no underwire.
• Crossed straps, open back. The straps are thin satin spaghetti straps. They cross once at the upper back and the back panel starts around the middle of the back. The maker’s photographs show plain sewn straps with no sliders, so do not count on adjusting their length.
• Fitted body, high slit. A center‑front seam and a close cut through the waist and hip, with one slit on the wearer’s left leg that opens to the upper thigh.
• Ankle length. The maker measures the dress at about 45.7 to 47.2 in long depending on size. On most women that lands at the ankle; on a taller frame it reads as a long midi.
• Satin, lightweight. A smooth satin‑weave fabric with a soft sheen. It is thin, drapes close to the body, and creases if it is packed tightly.

Sizing — read this before you order

This dress runs small. The maker’s chart gives a body bust, waist and hip range for each size and the finished length; it does not map to a US dress size, so measure yourself and compare. If you sit at the top of a range, take the next size up. There is no L‑plus size: the largest, L, is cut for a bust up to about 37 in, a waist up to about 30 in and hips up to about 40 in.

Bust, waist and hips are body measurements: bust at the fullest point, waist at the narrowest, hips at the widest. Length is the dress measured from the top of the bodice to the hem as the maker states it. Metric originals: S 72–86 / 64–68 / 88–94 / 116 cm, M 76–90 / 68–72 / 92–98 / 118 cm, L 80–94 / 72–76 / 96–102 / 120 cm. These are factory numbers, not a fit guarantee; allow about half an inch either way.
