One steel column, a top that tilts, and a flat base shaped like a letter H lying on the floor. The two low bars of that base slide underneath a bed frame or a sofa, so the column stands clear at your side and the top reaches out over the mattress or the seat cushion — close enough to type on without leaning forward.
Squeeze the paddle under the top and the gas lift takes the weight while you set the height. Let go and it stays. The larger panel tilts from flat through to almost upright, and a slim raised ledge along its lower edge keeps a laptop or a book from sliding off when it is angled.
Let's deal with the wheels first
This table has no casters
The product name says wheels. The table in the box does not have any. It stands on a flat steel base that rests directly on the floor, and we would rather you read that here than find it out when the carton is open.
What the base does instead is tuck. Because the bars are flat and low they slide beneath a bed frame or the plinth of a sofa, which is the thing a castered table usually cannot do without the wheels fouling on the way in. You reposition it by taking hold of the column and sliding or lifting it, the way you would move any small side table.
The trade you are actually making
No casters means nothing to lock, nothing to drift on a sloped floor, and no wheel to roll out from under a hand that leans on it. It also means it is not a table you reposition one-handed from a seated position. If rolling is the feature you need, this is not the table.
The numbers, stated properly
The old spec line on this page read as a single set of dimensions. One of those numbers was the maximum height rather than a size, and another was the two top panels added together without saying so. Here is each one, and what it measures.
Dimensions and the load limit are the manufacturer's own figures, taken from the specification drawing supplied with the product. Metric conversions are rounded.
Setting it where you want it
Slide the base in
Push the two flat bars under the bed frame or the sofa until the column sits where you want it. Nothing to unlock first.
Squeeze the paddle, set the height
The lever sits under the top by the column. The gas lift carries the weight of the panel, so it rises on its own and lowers with light pressure. Release to hold.
Tilt the panel to suit the job
Flat for a laptop or a plate. A gentle rake for reading. Steeply angled for a tablet or a book, with the ledge taking the weight.
Two surfaces, and only one of them moves
The tilting panel
You set the angle by hand anywhere between flat and almost upright and the hinge holds it there. The raised ledge along the lower edge is what makes the steep angles usable: it stops a laptop creeping down the slope.
The side tray stays level
A small fixed shelf beside the main panel that never tilts. It is there so a drink, a phone or a remote has somewhere to sit that stays horizontal when the big panel is raked over at an angle.
Where this table is the wrong choice
It gets bought for bedsides and for recovery, so the limits are worth stating plainly.
- Do not lean on it and do not use it to push up from. The top carries 35 lb of gear. It is a table, not a support rail, and the column is offset over a base that only extends one way. Anyone using it beside a bed for mobility reasons should have something properly fixed to take their weight.
- It does not roll. Repeating it because the product name still says otherwise. You lift and slide it.
- The base needs clearance underneath. If your bed sits on a solid platform, a divan base or drawers that reach the floor, the bars cannot slide under and the top will not reach across the mattress. Check for a gap before you order.
- One column, one side. The base runs away from the column in one direction only. It is a side table that reaches over, not a table you sit at from both sides.
