A clear acrylic block printed with the full periodic table, with small element samples sealed inside many of its cells. Metals, crystals and minerals you have only ever seen as letters sit right behind their symbols.

What each cell holds

Real samples

Many cells hold a small piece of the element itself, sealed in the acrylic under its number, symbol and name.

Printed symbol

Most radioactive elements, and all the man-made ones, are marked with a printed radiation symbol instead of a sample.

Stand-ins

Gases and a few elements that cannot sit in acrylic as a pure sample are shown with stand-in material. The mercury cell holds a red solid, not liquid metal.

No base

The block stands on its own flat bottom edge on a desk or shelf.

Wood base

A plain light-wood stand that holds the block upright in a slot.

Lamp base

A wooden LED light base with a button on the front. It lights the block from below so the samples glow at night.

The small block measures 4.49 x 5.51 in (11.4 x 14 cm). The large block measures 5.51 x 8.27 in (14 x 21 cm) and gives every cell and label more room.

Before you buy

What to know

The samples are small. Most are a few millimeters across. A magnifying glass shows them best (not included).
Not every cell is the pure element. See "What each cell holds" above.
A display piece, not a toy. It holds small metal samples, including lead, sealed in acrylic. Keep it away from young children and never cut, drill or break it open.
Acrylic scratches. Wipe it with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid alcohol and household solvents, which can cloud acrylic.
