One continuous roll of elastic sports tape, 16.4 ft (5 m) long, that you cut to whatever length you need. Nothing is pre-cut and nothing is pre-shaped — you get the full roll and decide how much to use.
What arrives
Which width should you pick?
Width is the only difference between the two options — the roll is the same length either way.
- 1 in (2.5 cm) suits smaller areas and places where you want two narrow strips side by side, like fingers, wrists and feet.
- 2 in (5 cm) is the more common general-purpose width and covers more ground per strip, so a roll goes further on larger areas.
Because the roll is uncut you can also split a 2 in (5 cm) strip lengthways with scissors to make a Y shape, which you cannot do with tape that arrives pre-cut.
How to apply it
- Start with clean, dry skin. Oils, lotion and sunscreen stop the adhesive gripping.
- If body hair is stopping the tape sticking, trim the area first.
- Measure against the area before you cut, then cut the strip you need off the roll.
- Round off all four corners of the strip with scissors. Square corners catch on clothing and start peeling early.
- Lay the ends down without any stretch at all. The anchor ends should sit flat on relaxed skin.
- Avoid touching the sticky side once the backing sheet is off — fingerprints weaken the grip.
- Once it is on, rub along the strip a few times. The adhesive is heat-activated and warming it helps it bond.
- Give it about an hour before you sweat heavily, swim or shower.
- After water, pat it dry with a towel rather than rubbing it.
Before you tape — please read
General safety guidance from chigous. This is not medical advice and is not the manufacturer's wording.
- Patch-test first. Put a small piece on your inner forearm and leave it for a few hours before taping a larger area, so you find out how your skin reacts.
- Never apply to broken skin. Keep it off cuts, grazes, burns, sunburn, rashes and any skin that is already irritated.
- Take it off if your skin objects. Itching, burning, redness that spreads or a rash means remove the tape straight away.
- Do not stretch the anchor ends. Tension at the ends is what pulls on skin and causes blistering.
- Tape is not a diagnosis. If something is painful, swollen, numb or not getting better, see a doctor or a qualified clinician instead of self-treating.
- Remove it slowly, in the direction the hair grows, ideally after a shower when the adhesive has softened.
