Hot water in a bucket, where there is no hot tap
This is a heating element on a cord. You hang it over the rim of a bucket or basin of cold water, plug it in, and the water heats. It is the tool people use in workshops, outbuildings, garages, allotments and campsites — anywhere there is an outlet but no plumbed hot water.
Mop water, wash water, cleaning down kit, a foot soak you fill after heating, warm water for stock buckets. It is a blunt, useful thing, and it demands respect while it is switched on.
Read this part before you decide
An immersion heater puts a live heating element into water. Used the way it is meant to be used — in a container of water that nobody is touching, watched, and unplugged before you go near it — it is a straightforward tool. Used casually it is genuinely dangerous.
So, plainly: never put this in a bath, a hot tub, a paddling pool or a trough that a person or an animal is in or is about to get into, and never reach into the water while it is plugged in. Heat the water, unplug it at the wall, take the rod out, and only then use the water.
Check your circuit before you check out
The manufacturer rates this element at 2500 W. On US household power that works out at roughly 21 amps, which is more than a standard 15 amp circuit will carry — it will trip the breaker. If you are in the US, plan on a dedicated 20 amp outlet with nothing else heavy running on it. This matters more than any feature on the page, and it is the thing most likely to make the product useless to you.
The shield and the hook are the design
The element sits inside a perforated stainless shield so it is not pressed directly against the side or base of your container, and the moulded loop at the top hangs it over the rim at a set depth. Both exist for the same reason: a bare element touching plastic melts it. Use a metal bucket or a genuinely heat-resistant one, and make sure the element is fully under water and clear of the walls.
Where it earns its place
It travels flat, needs no installation and nothing to plumb in, which is why it ends up in vans, on sites and in sheds. Pick the plug for where you are: US, EU or UK, chosen at checkout.

Safety, in full: fully submerge the element before plugging in and never energise it in air. Never touch the water, the rod or the container while it is plugged in. Never use it in water that a person or animal is in, or is about to enter. Do not leave it running unattended — there is no cut-off. Unplug at the wall and let it cool before removing it or emptying the container. Use a metal or heat-resistant container. Keep it away from children. If the cord or shield is damaged, do not use it.
